Lux - Chargin' Her Lazers

Okay, so for Lux this is what I do:


Runes -

3 Greater Quintessence of Potency
9 Greater Mark of Insight
9 Greater Glyph of Insight
9 Greater Seal of Vitality

This gives you:

15 Ability Power
13.68 Magic Penetration
175 HP at level 18.

Just stack a lot of AP and magic penetration and you will blow kids up!

Your passive is Illumination. Whenever you hit an enemy with a spell, for a small amount of time, your next attack will do bonus magic damage dependent upon your level. A good way to harass with this is to use a spell and auto attack immediately after.

Your E is really good for harassing the people you are laning against. It is also good later on for clearing minion waves quickly. It can also be thrown in bushes to see if people are hiding, and it slows people who run through it so you can help your team catch them!

Your Q is a skill shot, but if you can get good at landing it then you can bind them to hold them still for the rest of your team to go in, or to bind them to hold them still for your laser.

Your W isn't the best shield in the game, but it can be the difference between life and death for you or your team mates in a pinch. You can hit multiple people with it, when it's coming back trying moving yourself in a position so that you can get as many teammates as possible in it.

Your R is one of the best ult's in the game in my opinion. You can use it to snipe people down who are low, or hit the entire enemy team with it if they are bunched up, possibly winning your team the team fight. I've gotten triple kills with this as well.

Once you have a lot of AP you should be able to Q to bind, throw an E on them but don't blow it up, then use R, and then hit E again to blow up your lucent singularity, and if they're not dead from that then auto attack will also do bonus magic damage. This combo will destroy most champions if they don't have a lot of magic resist.

Keep in mind that you will be very squishy and easy to kill. Never try to run in the front, stay in the back and use the range on your spells to your advantage. In team fights, stay in the back and use your skills and if you're out of offensive spells then use your W to protect your team mates!

hey just some tips for the feature. if you dont need the penatration and are ok building class cannon without the hourglass active ability then you should throw in CDR. if you can get yourself to 40% CDR then you can shoot your ult off every 25 seconds at max level. that if times right can be 3 times in one teamfight depending on the fight and if you start with it and end with it.

boots of lucidicy give you 14. you get some from masteries if you have them set up utility and offensive, runes in you have them, then you have morello's evil tome at 15%and deathfire grasp at 20 or 25% i don't remember. its very easy to hit 40% and not lose any AP though. plus you have to remember starting a battle with the deathfire grasp can do a lot of damage to someone with little MR.

overal though this is a great build for lux as a standard mage. PLUS always remember! rushing deathcap just for a gaint AP boost is not always worth it. hourglass first for the armor and active is sometimes better. who cares if you have a lot of ap if it only takes me half a second to nuke you down.

Hehe, thanks for the advice but I think as you've seen I do pretty well with Lux. One of my most recent games I went 10/1/8 as Lux going mid in a 5v5, and then we did that 3v3. In 5v5 I get people to help me get blue buff so that pretty much helps with the cooldowns and my mana. And I am only level 25 so I can't do my full rune build yet but I still do pretty well with Lux. My next build guide will be my support Sona. =]

can't wait to see the sona build. i've always loved playing sona but were never great with her.
